Five Spice at Jewel is a new market dining concept situated at Changi Airport, which is modelled after the local hawker scene. As the gateway to Singapore’s diverse food scene for travellers and locals alike, individually designed stalls are set up to encapsulate the flavours of local and neighbouring cuisines within Southeast Asia .
Five Spice features well-loved heritage brands like Boon Tat BBQ Seafood, Faai Di by Ka-Soh, Fu Lin Fried Yong Tofu, Guan Chee HK Roast, Huat Huat BBQ Chicken Wings, Li Xin Teochew Fishball Noodles and Xi De Li Fried Dough Fritters. These names have been serving up award-winning fare fo about 25 years each on average. Chen’s Mapo Tofu, a sister concept by Michelin-starred Shinsen Hanten by Chen Kentaro 四川饭店 at Mandarin Orchard Singapore, will also be part of Five Spice.
Stepping into Five Spice, the first thing you will notice is its fresh, vibrant atmosphere and light timber scattered around, creating a contemporary interpretation of traditional dining spaces. Additionally, a mixture of brick and Peranakan tiles with rich colours are layered into the dynamic space, alongside modern art pieces, murals, and vertical gardens to tell the story of modern-day Singapore.
Five Spice has an on-going collaboration with Anthony The Spice Maker, a well-known local spice epicurean with 33 years of spice blending experience under his belt.Crafting authentic spice mixes since 1986, Anthony takes pride in delivering local flavours through easy-to-use premixes. His blends are well-loved by both locals and home cooks from all over, as well as chefs from all walks of life.
